Hope this finds all of you recovering well from Christmas, and looking forward to the end of 2012 and towards a wonderful New Year’s Holiday.  The Rose Bowl Parade and Game are right around the corner, and it just seems that this time of year brings a breath of fresh air.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION #1:

Make attending our meetings with South Bay Chapter of NAIW your #1 New Year’s Resolution, starting with our Annual Membership Dinner Meeting at Aliotta’s Via Firenze on Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 ~ social time starts at 5:30 pm, meeting beginning at 6:00 pm.  Please make your RSVP’s to Kris McConnell – (310) 316-2200 or mcconnell.kris@gmail.com.  Invite your co-workers and industry friends ~ the member bringing the most guests for the evening will win a special prize as will the member who has the most guests joining and becoming South Bay members that evening.  Should your guest(s) join as a member that evening, their dinner will be paid for by South Bay Chapter of NAIW.  And really, it’s a pretty decent “investment” in their future ~ membership is normally $123.50, by joining mid-year, they enjoy a 50% reduction to $61.75.  When you add the savings of a free dinner if they join that evening, they save a total of $91.75 by joining that evening!  New age math at work <smile>.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION #2:

Our first CE class of 2012 is on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 ~ make attending South Bay’s CE Classes your #2 New Year’s Resolution and please get your reservations in now before the classes fill up.  Education Chairman Susan Shaver and I have looked far and wide for interesting class subjects that we may not have had in the past so we can “broaden our horizons, increase our scope AND satisfy the California Department of Insurance’s licensing requirements.  No-Shows will be charged this year, so just reserve your space and come!  Remember – our CE classes are our #1 Fund-Raiser for South Bay Chapter of NAIW, so please support our organization and attend the classes!

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION #3:

Share, Share & Share some more!  Membership in South Bay Chapter of NAIW brings alot of "perks" ~ wonderful continuing education courses, professional development opportunities (Confidence While Communicating - ask us how!), friendships that last a lifetime, travel opportunities, chance to earn certified industry designations, and so much more.  Membership in NAIW is worth sharing with your industry friends and co-workers ~ you owe it to yourself and them to share information about NAIW.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION #4:

Attend the California Council's Inter-Coordinating Council Meeting being held in San Diego this year on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.  Carola Erb, President and members of the Insurance Women of North San Diego County have worked very hard to put together a quality program for us.  Attending an ICC meeting will help you stay in touch with your NAIW friends throughout the state, but on the decisions being made within the international organization that affect you.  Call me if you'd like to arrange a car-pool.                                                                                    Download the flyer here:  http://www.cacouncilnaiw.com/ShortTermDocs/2012_01_21_SO_CA_ICC.pdf.
